Santander Nightmare

Santander allowed £1,820 to be taken from my account by a fraudster.
I reported this on June 5 around two days after it happened. Since then I've been ringing them regularly and been in to branches to try and chase it up.
But STILL they have not resolved it. They initially said that somebody would be in touch within 48 hours...nothing. Then they said it would be solved and money refunded within five to seven days...still nothing.
Every time I try to find out what's happening they say that it's 'being investigated'. They fob me off again and again.
I have absolutely no money to live on and essentially no bank account. I'm going to open an account with somebody else, but until then, and until the money is returned, it's an absolute inconvenience.
Santander have not been in touch and they appear to have no respect what so ever for their customers, even victims of fraud, that the bank allowed to happen.
Has this happened to anybody else? What's the best course of action now to try to speed up the process?

You might get a response if you email their chief executive:
ceo@santander.co.uk
Ana Patricia Botin, Chief Executive
Explain that you ae being fobbed off and she should be able to get things sorted for you. I emailed the previous chief executive when I had problems with direct debits not being taken and got it sorted and also some financial compensation.
Good luck0 -
One of the people on the end of the phone told me on Monday that the fraudster had used the internet banking to get into my account. I was first with Alliance and Leicester and until now there had been no problems since the change over.0

Make a formal complaint now. After fraud the payment services directive requires a bank to refund you immediately. (santander have a whole new definition of the word immedately)0

You need to go through the complaints procedure. Complain today in writing. The payment Services Directive is a Europe wide standard for payments overseen in the UK by the Financial Services Ombudsman.0

Who would ever go near this place after all the horror stories we read on here?
They can keep their free fiver or whatever it is, I would rather find that pitance in the gutter."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
is it sorted yet?:footie:0
