How do I know if my PC supports Bluetooth?

I don't think it does, I may need a dongle. How do I tell though?

It's most likely that you need to buy a Bluetooth dongle, Ebuyer, Maplins etc sell them and I think they start from around £10.
  • That'll work. Can I get my PC to play mp3s over a bluetooth dongle?

As far as I'm aware bluetooth is just a type of wireless transfer between devices, mobile phones, printers etc and not able to play mp3's.
  • Mmm...I,m looking at this

It supports bluetooth streaming of music. I think it's intended for something lika a mobile phone. However, I have a motorhome and wanted to use a PC to play mp3s, DVDs, freeview etc through the vehicle sound system

That's a new one on me, so long as your pc ( I'm guessing that you're talking Laptop ? ) has a bluetooth connection via dongle or other then you should be fine.
  • I work away from home a lot. I may under those circumstances use a desktop.

Not sure if I could just use media player though and output the audio through bluetooth

you would need a dongle that supports the ad2p profile. ad2p allows you to stream music to a pair of stereo bluetooth headphones (eg, these)

the sony ericsson w850i allows you to stream music in stereo over bluetooth, using ad2p
  • I was looking into ad2p last night. Could I just use mediaplayer to play my mp3s? What I really want is to put all my mp3s in one place and then have an application that plays them randomly over the bluetooth interface.
