in Credit cards
Hi
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, can't find a more 'relevant' area to post it in!
I opened a Next account last month, never had a catalogue account and although my credit rating is OK, no debt, no late payments, I want something small I could make purchases on and pay off immediately and the Mr is a big fan of Next.
My application was accepted and given an initial £250 credit limit which was fine. Made a purchase of £30 plus directory charge, it arrived, all fine. Statement came at the end of May, min payment was £5, but paid £20, that was my error, I meant to put in £30 but keyed in £20. In any case I thought I would let the £10 stand for a few days as it wasn't exactly a massive amount.
So, today, I thought I would make a purchase for a friend's baby, she only shops at Next, so thought that would be ideal.
Logged in, it's got my balance as £13.75 but says available credit limit is £0.
Tried ringing but the bloke didn't understand what I was talking about, got frustrated and said I would write a letter.
I recollect earlier this week I logged in just to check payment had been applied and the amount of available credit was still there, not at a £0 balance.
Just wondering, have they now rejected my account and should I now just get the remaining paid off and get it closed?

nexts credit limits change more times that you buy milkDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Chanz4 is right. mine went from 4k to 0 overnight and then back up to 3k in 3 days.0

I hate the credit limits changing all the time. Everytime they put it up to a ridiculous amount I send them a message asking them to reduce to back to 1k, which they do but they say something along the lines of 'we always review the credit limits and so they will change a lot.'0
