I am on JSA at the moment but will be pension age from 6th september this year. I rang up to claim my pension and was told I would get my first pension payment on 13th september and then the next one on 11 October. What is worrying me at the moment is if I stop getting JSA and then get 1 week of pension and then nothing until the following month what am I supposed to live on. I did ask at the job centre about this and was just told "maybe I could get a crisis loan" Has anybody out there any advice please0

Funny l don't feel lucky, not with this "Government" calling the shots.
And you don't blame the last govt for getting you where you/we are?
It is hard to even try to dig yourself out of a hole, much less balance your books when the previous lot spent everything with nothing to show for it.
It is like seperating and finding the one who had the affair and did a runner also emptied all the bank accounts.0 -
You really need to ring up the DWP and ask for a pension forecast.
Details on how to go about getting a forecast here...

I'm almost sure that they pay pension as 4 weekly now - so you would get 4 weeks money not one.:)patricia50 wrote: »I am on JSA at the moment but will be pension age from 6th september this year. You have the choice whether to get paid weekly or 4-weekly. It goes into your bank account.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

they may only get one weeks payment, it has to be put into a payment cycle, so the op may only get one week and then 4 weeks the next, but she could opt to have it paid weekly if it makes it easier for her but it will be in arrears0 -

if you don't want your payment 4 weekly then you can ask them to change it to weekly, just ring the SP people to get it changed over, but remember you will be paid in arrears ie one week after you are entitled to it, so may need to budget now in order to save for that week.0 -
My Mum went from IB to claiming her pension and I think she had some sort of gap as well, but it wasnt as long as that, something like a week or 2. But I think she asked to be paid weekly same as my Dad and it was all fine there.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
