You really need to ring up the DWP and ask for a pension forecast.
You need 30 years contribition to claim a full pension
There are of course other rules re credits ie home responsibilites credit but you need to speak to someone to
see if you have been credited with these. It depends on yur own circumstances.
If you dont qualify for a full pension ie you are awarded less than 60% you can claim on your spouses contribution of 60%
18 months ago, i had to have 39 years but only had 20 (paid full 'stamp' for the previous 20 years) so only entitled to approx 50%
I claimed on my OHs contributions and got 60%, made a £20 a month difference but every little helpsmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

This Govt is actually doing quite well on the pension front. They have got rid of a few more silly rules.
Their main fault has been coming up with ideas, making them public as if they will happen before they have had a chance to sit down properly and tweak them correctly.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). All that brainpower and they can't tweak properly, say no more.0

We have just returned from holiday to this morning's doom and gloom news re State pensions. My wife is now panicking that the rules are going to be changed yet again!! but the way I read it , its still as per the proposed from CLAPTON's link above.
Can anyone confirm that it applies to women born after 6th April 1953????0
