is that all i need to do ?.

have a very basic grasp and dont want to start buying stuff only to find its wrong.

where adapters are concerned,
I will also in the future want to run my regular monitor in another room, audio not important, will be 15m vga run, using the mini to vga adapter i already have, the monitor will be on most of the time for work ( no sound) but will want to have video in other room hence the hdmi connection..

Do you want sound to be output from the TV speakers or are you just going to use computer speakers connected to the Mac Mini?

If you want the TV to output sound you need to check the manual for your TV.

TVs get both video and audio through the HDMI. However DVI-HDMI will only pass video and the audio from the Mac Mini needs to be input separately to the TV so you must have a TV which will allow you to select different audio inputs when you switch to the HDMI input.

The other day at work I was trying to connect a recent PowerBook to the VGA input on a projector using the Apple mini-displayport adapter. There was no signal getting through until I pulled the adapter out (with VGA attached) and reinserted it.

Don't know if you have an older Mac Mini (maybe they differ) but on one I bought last year it has a HDMI connection at the back. If yours has that just use a HDMI to HDMI lead to connect to your Samsung TV.

Or here is one cable to connect directly without an adapter but a bit pricy though
