Frost free fridge/freezer help please.

We have a frost free fridge/freezer. Roughly 4-5 years old.
Fridge no problems, very spacious and works a treat.
Now for the freezer, I don't know what's going on, For the past 6-12 months I notice the food is not freezing, and the lollies have melted etc? I then press the fast freeze button and it freezes up again. Think no more of it. But the other day DD went to get a lolly and again it was melted. So It's been on my mind, I pressed fast freeze button, thought nothing more of it. Then today I went to check, and my mince is now brown. lollies melted, everything has thawed.
I think there is a problem isn't it? And I need to throw all food away? Or can I salvage all food except for meat? Am gutted! And don't know what to do. House insurance I don't think covers food, and we have only now just put a claim in for our front door glass panel. Never ever claimed before.
Is this a common problem with frost free? I hated my old freezer, yes it never let me down, But the defrosting was a right pain in the backside. But I guess, you can't beat the old stuff. Like my modern washing machine.. (that's a different thread).
Any advice?
