Where can I buy a genuine HP Pavilion DV9000 Charger DV9000 for my laptop?

Hello

I was really hoping someone may be able to help, my original laptop lead died around 18 months ago, so I purchased a cheap version from ebay and have used twice in that time.
The recent lead has lasted roughly three months but in this time my laptop seems to regularly overheat and switch off. I would like to buy a genuine charger for a HP Pavilion dv9000, but with so many sites using the word genuine but they dont appear to be.
I wondered if anyone could advise a way they have been able to source a genuine product.
I cant even see a way of dealing directly with HP themselves.

Thank you any advice would be appreciated

    Which DV9000?

Look at the bottom and it should say DV9xxx, The DV9000 is just a series no.

Won't be the cheapest you can find but there are plenty of companies selling genuine chargers... A quick google search found this one:

  • The manufacture of individual components gets shifted around continuously; this month's "genuine" adapter won't always look like next month's, so don't be surprised if you eventually get something that looks nothing like the one you started with.

Sorry I didn't know there are two numbers underneath DV9827 and DV9700.

I will take a look at that website, does it sound like the reason my laptop is overheating is because of the cheap charger or because it may be on it's last legs perhaps accelerated by the use of a cheap cable???
Eek it's not even three years old so I really hope not.

    Thank you for your advice.

  • I bought a universal charger a while back off a site that now has a newer one and offers a discount code, but in my opinion it's better than manufacturer models. They don't claim to be genuine, but better - so presumably they're not up themselves, haha.

I'd highly recommend it *IF* you could also make good use of a phone charger as well. It's great for me cause I take it on holidays and only bring one charger, but I suspect for someone who wants to have a charger they can use at work for both devices it could be pretty useful too.
