The cheque I assume is drawn on a UK Bank. It can be paid into any bank or building society account. Failing that have you tried one of those cheque cashing shops? I understand that they will take a part of the £15 but at least you will still be in profit!

  • Can you get a relative to pay it into their account and give you the money when it clears? My mum often used to do this for me before I got my own account.
  • can my brother pay to his account but u need ur identity like passport?and proof of he being my brother
  • Ah, I never thought about the AC payee only thing on the cheque....it was never a problem for me (my mum's account was joint with my dad and we have same initial).

Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions.

Could you open a bank /building society/post office savings account with it?

email the company and explain you dont have a bank account to pay the cheque into, they might be able to send you a postal order or something instead
  • some shops accept it cheques as payment so may be you dont need to cash it in at all?
all depends how u plan to use it though
