Today we bought some fresh salmon from tesco, dh asked the man if it had any bones and was informed it was already boned meaning no bones, we gave our daughter some for tea and she found a bone and choked on it and now hates fish, tesco offered us a ten pound gift voucher, is this enough or should we ask for more, the fish cost £5.60

I am sure that you will find a sentence somewhere on the packaging that says something like 'Although great care has been taken to ensure bones are removed, some may remain.'
One of them things imo."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
exactly things like this can never be 100%0

You can't ever say 100% that they have taken all the bones out of fish, we were in a restaurant the other week where they boned the fish at the table and said we could have a free drink for each bone we found (11)0

well my dh asked at the fish counter if there was any bones in the salmon and the bloke said no you will find none, which is why we phoned the store cos there was loads of bonesto be updated:;)0

When working on a fish counter I was always told to say the exact statement as above to cover the company.0

To be honest I think that £10 is enough and you shouldnt ask for more, as other posters have said they can never say for certain that the fish is free from bones, although the member of staff should have said this.Weight Loss - 102lb0

I am surprised Tescos even entertained offering any kind of compensation .. it was probably done purely as a gesture of good will. For goodness sake it is virtually impossible to remove all bones from a piece of fish unless you stand there for hours hoking them out
You can not pretend to be blameless .. the ultimate responsibility for checking relied on the person preparing the food.. Don;t worry though your daughter will get over this little escapade and if she actually does like the taste of fish then she will soon learn to enjoy it.

No you should ring back and tell them that you want £1 millions pounds compensation.
You should also write to the Queen and let her know."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I would take some legal advice on this if I were you.
