So last night I logged in, and was asked if I'd like to upgrade to the new platform. Yes says I. One setting of an image, and some challenge questions, and a quick log out and back in again and there it is.

Must say it looks pretty, if a bit busy, but I'm not struck by what's changed.

The alerts feature is good (will be when it goes to sms), and I like the feature that it will challenge you if you try to log on from a machine it doesn't recognise. I also like the fact that it tells you the last unsuccessful attempt to log on.

Having a pdf archive of the correspondence they've sent out is good, as is the secure messaging feature.

Anyone tried it out yet?

I like that I can view my credit card on the same login now.

My big disappointment is that I still cannot view the balances of my fixed rate products.

I think that it's a definite improvement - I particularly like how it shows you all of your accounts on the same interface - I have one savings account with about £50 in it that I had forgotton about :-) I also like that it tells you after each payment if the money will be sent by Faster Payments or not (probably customers of the other banks have enjoyed these 'features' for several years already, though!)

What would be even better would be a display telling you the current interest rate on each account, though I can see how it is in their interest to make this information as hard to obtain as possible :-(

I transferred money to another bank this morning with the usual delay - debited from my account, but will take 3 to 4 days to get to the other account.

After reading this post, I upgraded my account this afternoon, and then sent money to the same bank account as this morning's transaction, and it was in the other account within seconds.

So, hopefully an upgrade in functionality, and not just appearance.
