whilst there saying which way is best, i'll just say this once you have the computer CLEANED which ever way you do it, BACK IT UP, personally i use Acronis True Image to backup my C partition, but there is another program looks exactly the same and is freeware, TODO BACKUP, http://www.todo-backup.com/ , with this if you get infected, you can restore your complete C partition back to how it was exactly dependant on date, before the infection, minus any new files you downloaded onto that partition of course after the date of the backup, and it shouldnt take any more than 10minutes to do the recovery.

example. say you backed up using it 2 days ago, then today get infected. so you reinstall the computer using backup image created time taken 10-15min max, only thing you've lost is the data you downloaded after the backup was created to today.

My wife got the same infection by clicking on a flower picture via Google Images..... I ran malwaybytes, CCleaner and MSE and the problem was solved in about 20 mins.

As for reloading windows in 30 minutes, I can do it in 15 but that's using a ghost image of a recent backup of course! - You certainly cannot reload windows with all updates, reloading all software, patches, antivirus, email accounts and the like in 30 minutes unless you've got image backups. If you mean it's possible with a manufacturers recovery disc / partition, then yes, I guess it's certainly possible to restore a PC to 'as new/out the box' but you still need to do updates etc.

I've found Acronis True Image totally invaluable for creating regular complete system backups that can make a busted PC work again really quickly. Thoroughly recommend people looking into this cheap way to make PC recovery a piece of cake.
