recommended online supplier of washing machines

İ have decided on a beko washing machine and it seems it is about the same price from most of the major online companies but which supplier offers the best service?-delivery removal of old machine and after sales service?

Currys - not bigging them up but they do what they say on the website.
  • I agree, currently Currys are good.

We had to replace our fridge/freezer and washing machine within a month of each other and bought both on line. Washing machine from Tesco - charged us £20 delivery and text us with 4 hour delivery time. Fridge/freezer from Currys - no delivery charge, had three calls from the delivery guys to say how far away they were, they delivered and unwrapped new machine and took old one away.

Prices on both appliances were the same on both websites.

    Surprisingly, I also back Curry's.

I bought a cooker recently. Went to Currys just to look at what was available generally, as they seemed to have a wide choice, and we chose one but did not buy it at that visit.

Came back home checked it out on the web with a dozen or so assorted suppliers. Currys on-line price was the same as their in-store price and this matched the lowest prices advertised from other web sites. The difference was that Currys delivered for free and took the old one away without charge. Also, managed to get a further 10% off via Quidco, which was not matched by other retailers.

We definitely got the best deal from Currys and their service was excellent. They delivered on time and the driver offered to take my old one away but a scrap man had already bagged it!

Amazingly enough, I also used Currys - delivered when they promised, phoned ahead to say when they were arriving.

Delivery was free, old one (and it really was scrap!) removed free. New one was unpacked, only had to remove the transport bolts. They were in and out within about 5 mins, very happy with the service.

If I remember rightly there was a minimum price for the free delivery, if you don't quite qualify for that it might be worth trying Dixons, same group, probably same delivery people, just different Ts & Cs.

    Hi

No I am sorry - Currys!

I think you would really struggle to get good customer service from any online retailer, the 2 things are opposed to each other.

Please give your local appliance specialist a call, I am sure you will find customer service in abundance and hopefully proper advice to. Its worth a call - be honest with them, tell them you have been looking online, tell them what your budget is and I am sure they will do a much better job for you.

    Support your local high street!!!!

    Good luck

We got our washing machine from M&S, got cashback through Topcashback and my MIL used her M&S credit card to get points.

I also used Coop Electrical to get a new dishwasher and was impressed with their service too.

Can't fault their service and removal of the old washing machine.

I bought a dishwasher and a fridge from Comet locally. At least you can go back and complain if there is a problem.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Currys is not just an online retailer - we checked the machine at the shop not far from us.

As for supporting the local high street, I would love to but could not afford the extra £100 on the price (and I did tell them how much I could get it for), plus £20 delivery and the cost of having the machine removed. Maybe when I have money to burn.

    Hi Jane

You do surprise me, in this age of transparency, an independent appliance specialist that doesn't compete with the internet is kidding themselves.

I am a kitchen specialist and have direct accounts with Siemens and Miele, we are always competitively priced compared to online suppliers, some times cheaper and always provide a much better service.

I agree totally - I wanted to use an independant (we have our own small business, like to encourage local businesses), but they just were not willing to come down to a level I could accept, and with the extra costs on top I simply could not justify it.

If it's any comfort though we have found an independant supplier for our carpet that beats everyone else hands down!
