Just wondering though Berbastrike, if this is the only work you do, and you aren't looking for anything more, then why should you be entitled to benefits!!
I'm sure you are, because unfortunately that seems to be the nature of our benefits system these days.
Might be a student and can't afford the time to do anymore work. Don't jump to conclusions just yet. I'm sure if they were a dole waller/state sponger/lazy arsed council estate inbred then they'd already know the system inside out and wouldn't be asking us for advice.0 -
Apparently I need an invite to join one of the other forums. Would anyone who knows what I'm talking about care to invite me?0

I'll PM you in a sec.Might be a student and can't afford the time to do anymore work.
Most students aren't entitled to benefits. Also, most courses have 12 hours contact time per week and only run for 24 weeks a year. Plenty of spare time to work.0 -
For tax returns filed by 31st Jan 2012 deadline you should keep paperwork until 31st Jan 2017 (although you'll normally only get queries about the individual return until 31/01/2013). October filing deadline is irrelevant for records purposes.
Thanks for your answer, I better start keeping it all then!0 -

If Berbastrike is entitled to some benefits good luck to him/her, the actual problem is the benefits system itself rather than individual claimants, although this really needs to be on another forum as I think it will cause more arguments than the tax queries.0 -

Oops, sorry then. Things must have changed. When I was at Uni it was a kinda full time thing but I still worked weekends to get some beer money. I used to make £1500-£2000 over the year, but I wouldn't have wanted to earn anymore. Thought ManUtdStrike might be in the same boat.0 -

I have never had any benefits before and i find it embarrassing asking lol.
Im going to uni next year but this year, I am not going to do too much, just some MS, and maybe some travelling in the UK.
I live with parents. I find it difficult to get through to the right person but will try and sort it next week. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
And I would swap MS for a part time job, so I suppose I am kind of looking for work, but wouldn't say it would be fair for me to claim job seekers allowance. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
