Why, when you find the cheapest tariff for you, that the cashback sites don't give you any cashback?

Try switching to ScottishPower Direct 2012 using SimplySwitch. No cashback.

Unfortunately we are not able to sign you up to this supplier online, if you wish to switch your supply you will need to contact them directly. Alternatively please call us on the number below, or enter your name and phone number in the boxes and one of our trained advisors will contact you to explain the options available and ensure you find the best deal.

Important Information - This offer is only available online and not via the call centre

I was surprised to find that the comparison sites for some things, beat the socks of Topcashback.

Sorry, we do provide a 'whole of market' comparison so you can see which product is best for you across the whole market, but there are certain products that the providers do not allow comparison sites to actually sell.

Unfortunately, this is one of them - so the only option is to go to them direct - or chose another from our site if the cashback available exceeds the saving you would get from going direct to Scottish Power.

I am the official company representative of SimplySwitch. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Again, the clue is in the title, DIRECT, ie. going to them direct, not via a middle man.

The comparison sites show all the tariffs that are available to you as a new customer, even if they cannot switch you to some of them.

If they didnt show all the results, people would then come on here complaining about that...

  • The cashback for utility switching from the usual cashback site suspects is currently the most pitiful I've ever seen it. I don't think there's one that would even negate the (IMO anti-competitive) exit fees the utility companies charge. No more serial switching for me for a while it seems.

I didn't know that ScottishPower was in the mystery business and were giving out clues that you had to solve before you could get their gas and electricity.

Ive had a few decent cashback returns the last few years. £120 and an £80 are the two that spring to mind. At the minute £40 at Npower seems about all there is on the cheap tariffs.
