Lidl had them for £1.79/400g yesterday and frozen ones were £1.99/750g

Aldi are about the same price for fresh.

me again, i'm thinking that the frozen ones, when defrosted would be too soft/mushy for choc fountain?

The frozen ones do go a bit soft when fully defrosted but are good when used in desserts and smoothies :)

Could do strawberry picking at a local farm? Not as convenient maybe but much more fun than shopping!

I agree, I dont think frozen (though defrosted) strawberries would work very well on a stick that gets put in the chocolate fountain.
  • If I was after a lot of cheap strawberries, I'd definitely find a 'pick your own' place!

Another vote for pick your own - got a tonne for a fraction of the price of supermarkets at the weekend (and they're nice). Now, if I could only find my microwave jam recipe... :o
