  • Hello :)

First thing to try is plug your laptop directly into your router using an ethernet cable, should have been one with the router, does internet explorer work now?

Edit* Reset your router first to see if that fixes problem, then try the above.

My laptop has a dedicated wi-fi key, sometimes I click it off without knowing it. Do you have one on your keyboard?

is it just the laptop that won't connect? do you have other PC's in the house that can?

If the laptop is the only thing you're trying to connect through it, is your router actually connected to the internet?

Thank you to all of you with your suggestions - we tried them all !!

In the end the laptop had for no reason decided that the default connection was my OH's work VNP connection which is a dial up - after clicking 'no' to the default it worked perfectly !!
