I would recommend getting Wii Play (has 9 diff games, ie table tennis, fishing and air hockey), and comes with a free Wiimote! It's around £30 (not sure where I saw it for that though - poss Sainsbury's) so it's around the same price as buying a remote on its own but you get a game that they all will enjoy!
    [STRIKE]CC1: £354.35 / £354.35[/STRIKE]
    CC2: £390 / £1475.98
    Boiler: £1500 / £2500
    [STRIKE]Overdraft: £1000 / £1000[/STRIKE]
    Emergency Fund : £20

Tesco instore are doing an offer of console with a choice of about 6 free games, I chose the above game to get the extra controller, price £179.97.

Rang Dixons & was told to take the unit back to a shop for exchange.

Took it back to the shop who flatly refused to to accept it & told us we have to ring the online people & arrange a courier to collect the old unit. Of course they won't deliver us a new one at the same time - we have to wait until the old unit is back with them & then wait again for the new unit to be couriered to us. Obviously Dixons operate on the basis that their customers do nothing but wait at home for couriers all day.

Abysmal DISGUSTING service. No wonder this company's shareprice looks like this: http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=DSGI.L&t=2y&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=

The sooner they go bust the better.

    hi all

i want to treat the family to a wii and games for christmas and the above deal for the console with a free sonic at the olympics is the deal i will probably go for - so thanks for that link...

BUT i have just realized we will not be at home for christmas and the house we will be in does not have a modern TV to connect it to...

so would i be better off waiting until after christmas to buy this?

do you think the deals will be better or worse after christmas and into the new year?

or are the deals at the moment eg console plus game for £179 the best they are going to be?

    any thoughts anyone?

  • HI

I have seen a few decent looking packages on ebay, I'm just concerned about the legitimacy of them. They do seem to come from powersellers though.... could anyone advise? I'm looking to but one as a "family" xmas present for our special family xmas
    present his year.

    Cheers
    Andy
  • i bought a wii with games brand new in box on ebay a couple of months ago from a power seller and had no problems what so ever, it was exactly the same as my nephews shop bought wii except i got extra games and paid less. my best advice for buyng from ebay would be to go into their feedback history and check that they have sold wiis previously without any problems and only pay by paypal which gives you protection if anything goes wrong... i wouldnt trust anyone who doesnt accept paypal. hope this helps

About £160 for the console (machine & 1 controller) and 15 to £30 for a game (you get one free game with console)
