What memory for my laptop-please advise?

Options
Hello, I have a laptop with the following memory installed and I want to upgrade the memory to 2gb as it needs a boost.

The laptop is a Gateway and has the following memory installed:

512 MB Single-Channel DDR2 @ 266MHz (4-4-4-12) it has 2 of these making 1gb in total.

It has 2 memory slots so i was hoping i could stick 2 x 1gb sticks of memory but dont know how to choose the right memory.

Is it just DDR2 memory I need or do i need to know anything else.

It also states that its a:

Intel Pentium T2060 @ 1.60GHz 56 °C
Yonah 65nm Technology

Thanking you in anticipation.

    PC2-5300 is DDR2.

I think Crucial include P&P. A bit cheaper here

You may be able to boost it by pruning your startup apps

Go on Ebay. Buy any 1GB sticks of Hynix or Samsung DDR2 - that is the brands used by most manufacturers but make sure it is DDR2 as there is some cheap 1GB DDR3 on Ebay and it won't fit. I usually pay around £7 per 1GB on Ebay.

faster hard drive or reinstall of windows or both would likely yeild more improvement to speed.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,

Should do for a system with 1GB in although if its a Pentium-M CPU, its getting a bit long in the tooth now. Even I've moved from those pretty much despite there still being a steady flow of mint nearly new condition Dell D610's at the auctions I buy at. However being an Intel Core Duo, it should be going better unless they're running Vista in which case, it needs 2GB.
