Doozergirl, how do we know its going to cost £100 to fix, might need a new door for all we know!!
Because I've been developing property for 12 years now and I know what a removable part of a lock looks like. It does not need a new door. I know exactly what you're talking about and it probably is a case of WD40 being allowed to seep in. I've had it on my own doors.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Just looking on the fittings and contents form, it states; 'the seller is responsible for remobing any possessions, including rubbish, from the property, the garage, the garden and any outbuildings or sheds'. The seller has signed this form. To me the concrete is rubbish that is sat in the garage. We know its a stupid little thing but at the end of the day it's their rubbish and they should take it or get rid of it, thats what that statement above says to me. Its just annoying, if I was the seller I would have gotten rid of it, especially if it was evidence vax2002!
How big is this lump? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Its too late to discuss a change in price FlyBoy, if you have read any of the replies I have put then it will answer the comment you put, because I can't be bothered explaining it to you when I've already said it all.0

Lets hope it is just that Dozergirl, thanks for your help by the way, it's a big decision getting our first house and we want to make sure we do it right and no one is trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Can't help panicking lol0

Concrete is 2 foot by 1 foot! We can't even pick it up with the two of us. Its rubbish! they should remove it its not fair to leave it for us, as I've said I would'nt leave it if it were me but maybe I'm just too nice.0

look, no matter what they sign about contents and removal etc...several things are going to happen.
THe kitchen cupboards won't be cleaned to your liking, there will be their C*rp in the shed and in the loft ( I know this one, dug out papers from 1911 and 1954 this week in my house!), there will be stains on the carpet, they might have stolen the lightbulbs and replaced the curtains with cheap ones, your sofas wont go through the front door, the removal men will break at least five items and you will need to spend £50 down at asda on stuff to spring clean the place with.
Just remember to pack your toothbrush where you can find it easily, and make sure you know the number of the nearest Indian takeaway and wine shop for moving in night as you will need those. The rest will always wait
Good luck with it0 -
If you're really that worried about it instruct your solicitors to instruct the other side that you wont be exchanging until the problems are remedied. They are pretty minor problems so the vendors will probably want to sort them out to avoid losing the sale.
They'll probably think you're a douche but presumably you dont care about that.0 -
There isn't anything in the loft, they have emptied the garage apart from the lump of concrete, the house is pretty clean and tidy overall as an old lady has been living in it and has looked after it, if they can't be bothered to remove everything I doubt they will change the curtains and blinds for crappy ones, the sofas are already in the house as we bought them off them as these are quite new, we aren't getting any removal men we are doing it ourselves in a self hire van cause we are first time buyers and on't have that many things. So :P lol0
