Btw, I'm guessing WordPress hosted blogs are secure enough not to worry about hacked attempts unless they announce it themselves?

the wordpress servers have been hacked several times. If you don't host your own blog and don't have to worry about server security, then i wouldn't be concerned.

so long as you use a strong password for wordpress, keep the password safe, change it regularly, etc, then you should be fine.

it's always question of what value does your password have to a hacker? if it's a password to a run-of-the-mill personal blog, then the value of the info that the password protects is close to nil.
