the wordpress servers have been hacked several times. If you don't host your own blog and don't have to worry about server security, then i wouldn't be concerned.
so long as you use a strong password for wordpress, keep the password safe, change it regularly, etc, then you should be fine.
it's always question of what value does your password have to a hacker? if it's a password to a run-of-the-mill personal blog, then the value of the info that the password protects is close to nil.0
