led internal lighting

know someone who got led internal lighting in their house, replacing halogen spotlights. the light now is very cold, and it looks really uncomfortable (more or less like the type of light you see cars with led headlights having).
is this the norm, or are there warmer varients of led bulbs? are we likely to see changes in the future, or are they stuck with cold lighting ?

You can buy LED's in a range of colours.... generally speaking they are defined as Warm White or Cool White.... sounds like your friend has Cool White as these can be quite clinical looking, nice in a bathroom sometimes but not in any other room.
I found some Warm White ones that give a slight yellowish warm glow, very similar to that of a Halogen. All depends on personal preference I guess, but yes you can certianly get different colours.0
