Laptop fault.

Hey guys.
I've just been reading the very helpful 'Consumer Rights: Give me my money back' about 2 months too late. My laptop has been presenting a fault, which makes me believe its not fit for purpose. There's an issue with the sound.
Now my first instinct was to return it to the manufacturer, HP, on the warranty. They've tried to fix it twice to no avail and I decided to look up whether I can take it back to the shop.
In the article it clearly states to take it back to the shop FIRST, as that's where my contract lies... Especially as its within 6 months of the purchase. Do I still have the same rights since I've already sent it back to the manufacturer? Can I still take it back to the shop? And if so, should I mention that I have already sent it back, or should I avoid that point?
Thanks in advance!

Depends on the shop - it might be easier with some people to go via HP! And some stores may get HP to repair it anyway, but I would certainly try with the store. Do mention that its been away twice already.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

The shop is Best Buy. I wouldn't mind sending it back to HP again, if I new for a fact it would come back fixed, but the last time I received it I had 'No Problem found'. The main problem being that there's no problem found. Would it be worth emailing HP to tell them I'm not happy and see what they offer? I'm new to this whole complaining malarky :S I've never had to kick up a fuss about anything and it's making me a bit uneasy! haha.0

I don't know who BB use for repairs, but give them ago. Any repair centre worth dealing with will call you to clarify and get more info if they can't find a faultSquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. It's more than likely HP are the repairers when purchased from Best Buy.
I mean, HP will refuse to repair the system if the retailer has purchased the after sales rights (like Currys and PcWorld).
In fact they have a system where if you input the serial no. It tells them exactly where it was purchased from.0 -
So does this mean even if I take it to the shop, they're just going to send it away to be repaired again and I run the risk of just having it returned again with 'No fault found'?
Thanks for the help so far guys

More than likely yes.
But take it back with all paperwork and ask what they are going to do about it if it doesn't get fixed next time.0 -
Or maybe, there really is no hardware fault with it. What is the problem you're experiencing?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
