I have just got Microsoft Office Pro Plus which I have now installed onto my laptop, it came along with one licence key. My question is (as I am not up to speed on these things), if I change my hard drive how do I go about transfering it to my new drive, How does this whole thing work as I am a bit confused now.

If you call up Microsoft they are usually nice enough to give you a new code or reactivate it.

It will also depend on how you transfer the data over from the old hard drive.

If you do a ghost, which is a full copy of the old drive to the new, everything will stay the same.

+1 for copying everything over. All hard drive manufacturers have tools on their website you can download and install which allow you to do a copy of the original to the new drive. No re-installing, loss of documents or photos etc.

If it was bought as a disc, just install as normal. If bought as a key card, they are for one PC and non-transferable, so you'd probably have to contact Microsoft.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

It was bought as a disc, I think I will go down the ghost road.
