Hi

Going to be removing asbestos roofing sheets from my garage. I know how to remove it safety. However I'm looking for a place where I can dispose of it safely in the Newport area.

Cheers in advance

Contact NCC. I,m sure you can take them to the tip down by the old big W in Newport.

You cannot just take this to a tip it needs to be disposed of via a sealed container or asbestos removal firm !

We are talking about grey asbestos roofing sheets. They can be removed safely from the garage roof and transported to the tip where they are disposed by the council. No need for a specialist company. Been there done that, but not sure about NCC

The local council recycling center will usually take them, (Double bagged at ours) but as suggested, enquire at your council offices.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

If you look on your council website it should tell you.

Alternatively you could stack it all up outside of your garage and leave it there, and if your neighbours ask you about it lie and say its sheet metal..... that is if you want to be as bad as my neighbour!

(I did contact the waste management team at the coucil, and asked if they could be forced to move it and I was told no, speak to your neighbour. I tried that. They do not care at all.)

If memory serves you need to ring the waste disposal team at the tip and give them notice of when you intend to take it to them.
