Without the receipts, your employer will not be able to reclaim such things as VAT.
Also, technically you could be liable for tax on any payment made to you without proof that it is a genuine business expense.

Mine must be the only one who's more figiving than most.
If I haven't got a receipt I write the expense down and still get it.

E.g Parking Whpps Cross hospital £4.00 no receipt.

    My lovely boss repays me.

I once worked on location once, 11 days I got per diems, for 11 days work got handed an envelope of about £170! No need for results! Brilliant, love that, it would have been annoying to ask for EVERY receipt when eating somewhere. (I managed to save about £60 of it by getting food at local tesco and filling up at breakfast which was also free)

We get a per diem, it varies by destination country - it's currently £25/day for the UK. I was explaining to my kids how per diems worked and you could see the cogs going round...

"Dad, if you didn't eat for 40 days we'd have a thousand pounds!"

We must be lucky, most small expenses like parking and meals while away from home can get through without receipts although a "fair usage" policy exists!
There is the expectation however that ALL expenses should go on the corporate Amex card, if it is not accepted anywhere this must be noted on the claim.
So when away there will usually only be a small number of meals submitted without proof.

Receipts for everything here. There are exceptional items that will get through, usually because of the unavailability of the receipt (ie vending machine drinks etc) and they have to be signed off by manager (all expenses has to be, but this has to be specially noted). I am affraid simple "forgetting" to ask for receipt would not cut it after the first time!!!

To prove what on credit card bill? That you have visitited A place of some name that no one in the UK understands and we will take your word for it that it is a restaurant and not a parlour in red district:-)))) Or in the UK that you have been in this restaurant, really at this time and there really was only 1 of you and not you and 3 of your mates? (only kidding, but do realise that that is not exactly proof).

Also then you have the problem of allowable expenses for corporation tax calculation... no receipt, no proof it was genuine business expense..
+in the UK the VAT implications...

    I might try that diet..!

I have had the allowance method. Some companies dont like doing it as people do not always spend to the max, then again it saves a pile of admin
