Went into Tesco today and they have put Warbutons up to 1.35!. In the shop next to it its 98p. Cat food has also gone up by 30 odd pence. Its disgusting when you think of the profits they have made.
Complaint going in to the head office later,.

add to that 12p on tesco value butter, and 13p on chappie dog food and thats just in the last week too!
no doubt will be on "offer" next week back down to nearer their original price - they did that with the 2.5kg margarine used to be £1.79 at christmas then up to £2.15 now £2.89 but was on special offer for £2.50 a couple of weeks ago. No wonder we all jump on the bandwagon when there is a glitchskintbint x

Then buy it in the shop next to it.
Or buy two Warbutons loaves and run the receipt through TPC to take advantage of ASDA's 2 for a £2 offer and get the 70p refunded.Cat food has also gone up by 30 odd pence. Its disgusting when you think of the profits they have made.
Sticking an extra 30p on the price of cat food when they think no one is looking is how they make those profits in the first place.0 -
In the shop next to it its 98p.
Well go to the shop next to it then.
People keep complaining about Tesco being so expensive. Well why not? So long as people keep shopping there why would Tesco want to lower their prices.
The only thing that will make them listen is if enough people start shopping elsewhere.
And best of luck with the complaint. I tried it once. They didn't respond. waste of time and effort.0 -

complaint about what, tesco is a business and can sell bread at hiow much they want, you dont have to buy it0 -
I don't know why you're moaning about the Warburtons rise considering it's the same price in Sainsbury's, Ocado & (Asda, 2 for £2)
Do you not know the price if raw ingredients have gone up. They do try to keep the cost down as long as they can but eventually the supplier has to rise the price, meaning the supermarket has to pay more. The supermarket try & keep the cost down for as long as possible but eventually have to pass on the rise to you the consumer.0 -
I really think that they have a lot of tickets with prices on and they are thrown into the air each day and whatever lands last is the price charged, as there doesn't seem to be any continuity on anything. I'm lucky that I've now retired and able to monitor the machinations of our food suppliers. Greedy !!!!!!!s easily comes to mind.0

I have a personal policy of never spending more than £1 on a loaf of bread.
I was so sad when bakery bread went from £1 to £1.10, but I guess the main thing is the astronomical cost of fuel these days.0 -
