I have an job interview this week and I am really excited about it. I have a problem though....
I bought a nice long black skirt and white shirt and would like to wear my boots. The reason for this is my skinny legs- I do not want to show my skinny ankles and boots disguise this a bit. The company is small and informal and they dress casually- jeans and trainers etc. Can I get away with wearing boots. The skirt is nearly full length and the boots are black leather. Please someone tell me its OK. Or is it completely unacceptable?

It will be fine! A long black skirt with boots will look very smart, especially dressed up with a smart shirt.
Ive interviewed women wearing mini denim skirts, no tights and white stilettos:eek:    ....although interviwers should never go on appearances only it is the first impression that counts;)
Good luck with the interview. You will look smashing!

Strangely all my autumn/winter interviews I've worn boots to I've got job offers. So obviously there is no problem with them as long as they are clean and shiny.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Long skirt and boots will be great. Also make sure hair is tidy, minimal make up, and also, very importantly, clean nails for all the handshaking! Nowt worse than skaing hands with a prespective employee with dirty nails! Or is that just me ??
And good luck , let us know how you get onBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -

Boots will of course be fine, don't get too hung up about your footwear, Smart is always a good impression, and include smiles where you can. Good luck.0 -
Ok.... just to give the other opinion

It does very much depend on the boots - if they are the sort of knee high boots that you see all the lasses wearing when going clubbing then I personally would think twice about them. Whilst I do very much like this type of boot they do give a certain signal which is fine for a lass in a club "on the pull" but probably not for someone at an interview. This does of cause also depend on your age and seniority of the role you are going for.
If the skirt is very long and so will cover the boots would it not also cover your skinny legs? All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Thanks for your replies everyone.
Astaroth- Skirt is midway between knees and ankles so my legs would show with shoes. Appreciate the opinion though. Will have to wear boots now anyway interview is tomorrow. They know me anyway so I'm not making a first impression, just want to be smart. Besides, if they don't give me the job because I wore the wrong clothes then its their loss.
Let you all know how it goes tomorrow.0
