Honda Civic Starting Problem. Help plz?
I have borrowed a Honda civic 96, 16 valve SOCS and have had a problem with it starting today. I have spoken with a garage who have informed me that Hondas sometimes/occasionally on start up lose compression until the oil has splashed/pumped up the surface of the bores, then compression comes back and the engine starts, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this kind of problem????
Many Thanks in advance for any help or light you can shed on this!!!

What is happening when you try to start the car - do you get just a click or all the normal lights on the dash then turnover and it just takes a while to fire?
really stupid question but it definately has fuel?0 -
Actually I posted this on behalf of My father... yes its 100% has fuel. He said it just whirred and was totally dead, when the garage came out they cranked it over and over and it was almost like you could hear the compression coming back... then it started. It was the garage that then said about Hondas losing compression.
(you will have to excuse me and my technical terms like whirring!)0
