That makes more sense! They will dig a hole to the same depth as the foundation and then assess the bearing capacity of the soil in the hole. Then they will be able to confirm if the pier as constructed is OK :-). Good luck!

Thanks I feel like I need it, It really has been a horrendous week since this has come to light last wednesday, - on the upside i've lost 3lb due to my inability to eat as a result of the stress.
To start off with I thought he said troll holes and googled that, which led me to information that I really didn't need or want!0 -
It's just a bit of graft. I dug one for the building inspector to check if my proposed extension needed a mini piling rig or strip foundations.
I dug a metre down against the wall I was building off and made it a metre square.
You might lose a few more pounds after digging two....0 -
