I've had a few of these, mostly accident claim ones but since the PPI ruling came through a few of those as well. I have a sneaking suspicion O2 sold off loads of numbers a while back which is why I get them in the first place, but they just get deleted.

I'm on o2 and started receiving loads of them in the summer of last year.

I'm on O2 as well and I get them. It would make an interesting poll to see which networks are most affected by them!

I have had an accident 3 years ago. I received compensation through my insurance company and I have no intention to claim more (although apparently I could have done so). I get these stupid claim texts up to 3 times a day. The trouble is, they are always from a different number, otherwise I could just block them on my phone (there are settings on most phones to block certain numbers). Drives me nuts!

Occasionally I get "write off your debt" messages, but they are bearable. I have been with Vodafone for 8 years and they don't seem to have sold off any numbers, must have been my insurance company, considering what kind of texts I get.

I get the same text as saffamagic, except the number is different 07549358813. Am on O2 as well - they reckon there is nothing they can do to block it, do I want to change my number?
The last accident I had was 5 years ago, but did have this number then.

If you add that number to your contacts, can you then not block it?

In my phone I can edit each contact and there is an option to block all SMS, all calls or both.

I had payg with O2 and got a lot of them probably some from 02 itself and they were charging me to receive them.

I had to let the credit run down to zero to get of them and now only use the phone to receive calls. But you shouldn't have to do this!
