Not sure if this is the right place for this, but here goes -
I've had a few calls where people say they were calling me back because our number is on 1471/caller display. Not loads, but maybe once a fortnight or so. The strange thing is, I haven't called anyone - for instance today I'd been out most of the morning and got a phone call when I got back from someone saying our number was on their caller display?
Any idea what could be causing this? We have our phone line with BT but sky for calls, I'm not sure whether I should call BT or Sky to ask about a fault. Very strange.

Could it be a crossed line?
Our telephone line had a radio station in the background (strange listening to music while calling!) so i assume it could be possible.0 -
Caller ids can be spoofed and often are by call centres but I've never heard of a genuine residential number being used.
Try putting your number in http://whocallsme.com/ to see if it has been reported as a cold caller.0 -
We had a crossed line problem I think in the past, BT apparently fixed that but who knows? Just searched my no and it's not been reported as a cold caller.
Strange! I had one lady call me a few weeks ago, very insistent that I had just called her, when in fact I'd just been playing with the baby in the front room, no-one else in...
