Should I keep pushing my solicitor?

Hiya,
So we're at the stage now where we've got our mortgage deeds signed, all our searches are back and our enquiries have been replied to (20 pages according to our case handler).
I phoned on Thursday, Friday and yesterday and was told these replies to enquiries are "with my solicitor" to sort through and see if they can finish drafting up the contract or if they need to go back to the vendors.
I've been trying to find out whether or not they are sufficient replies and if we have at least some idea of when our exchange/completion dates are. We're very much in limbo land at the moment.
Where I keep phoning I only get the case handlers and just keep saying it's "with the solicitor". Should I phone again today? Should I keep phoning until the contract arrives at our door to sign?
We have an online tracking system with our service and it hasn't been updated in a month even though I know some of the stuff on the checklist has been done. It's very frustrating as I like to be in control and know what's going on. I'd also like to start packing up but I'm inclined not to start until I know the replies to all the enquiries are satisfactory.
What would you do?

Same here. Land of Limbo is not fun.
Let us all exchange already!!0 -
you didn't shop around for an actual 'solicitor' but got landed with a 'case handler' - prbably for the same price. ouch!
I am so sorry for you, as smart money gets a solicitor every time.
as a result you are seeing why so many people post on this site.
be careful about calling too much as you may have a hidden charge that enables them to charge you more per call etc.
tell the estate agents the problem as they probbaly pushed them on you - am I right? and they are probbaly getting hundreds in cash back for doing it.My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:
My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o0 -
Hiya,
Actually the legal service we are using is through our lender (Nationwide) as part of our mortgage deal. I called them up yesterday and they said that our contract is in the post with details on how to transfer the deposit.
Wooohoo!!!
No date for exchange/completion yet but it seems to be looming.0
