Nationwide refuse to transfer my money!

Hello,
I have an ISA and current account with Nationwide which I use for my savings. I have just moved to Spain for a few months and thought it would be easy using the internet to transfer funds from my ISA into the current account and then into my First Direct account (which I had set up and used to do just that before)before then getting it transferred into Euro's using a money transfer company.
I went online and got as far as trying to transfer my money into First Direct, this was when I was asked to use my Nationwide card reading machine! I don't have one and why would I carry it around with me. When I emailed Nationwide saying that I needed urgent access to my funds they said 'sorry but that is the only way to transfer the money'. Surely this cannot be correct and it is my money going into another of my accounts which has been done before. I have not heard anything back from Nationwide since the last email I sent them saying that was not very helpful at all. Any suggestions off how I can get my money out of their grubby, thieving mitts whilst in Spain.
If I used my cash card it would be ridiculously expensive and I don't want to give them any more of my money. I also don't want to have to phone their 0845 number whilst over here but think I do need to speak to a manager.
Best wishes

In order to use internet banking.
The card machines aren't new; Nationwide introduced them about three years ago, so you can hardly pretend that you haven't heard of them before.0 -
It might be worth asking around any of your British friends or expats in Spain to see if one of them has a card reader.
Most of the UK card readers are interchangable (i.e. you can use most UK bank card readers with your Nationwide card to get the necessary code to make the transfer).0 -
Have you seen the tab "Use your Memorable Data"?0

Yes, you will still need a card reader to transfer money even if you log in with memorable data. Logging in with a card reader at the start removes the need for one to transfer money.
The card readers are not nationwide specific so any one will do so ask around and see if anyone has one that you can borrow.0 -

I thought once logged in the only way to set up payees/make transfers was via the card reader?0
