Hi All, After a little advise if possible.
I bank with NatWest, i have a current plus account, I also have a step account which i use for direct debits. as well as an ISA. all of which were opened around the same time in 2006.
I am looking for another basic step account with natwest (no overdraft no cheque book ect) When i applied online to NatWest it was rejected as it said 'bankrupcy was found on your credit file'
Now this has shocked me!
2 months ago i bought a statutory £2 report from each of the 3 report agencys. None of which have bancrupcy on there!
The 1 thing i do have is a CCJ which started in 2008 for £871. from that CCJ i now have an administration order with the court which i pay £x amount per month to the court & have been doing since 2008. (still classed as unsatisfied) Now i understand that with a CCJ the banks arnt allowed to give me more than £500 credit. but to be honest i dont need any credit so this hasnt affected me too badly and i am waiting out the 6 years! I am learning from my mistake !
However now I have come to open a basic bank account and i can't i am puzzled. Is a CCJ Administration order classed as bancrupcy?
do you think i should go into my branch with my 3 credit reports and speak to someone?
Any advise would be appriciated on the matter.
Many thanks
Holly

If you are sure there is nothing on your credit files then write to your bank appealing the decision and send copies of your credit reports if necessary to back up your claim. I would of thought already being a customer would give you an instant yes. However I could be wrong, someone may put me in my placeWho are you to judge the life I live? They can refuse you any kind of account if they want to.
As you already have accounts with them IMO opening a basic account with a new bank would be the way to go.0
