I am really trying my best to be able to take my kids abroad somewhere this summer holidays and need it to be as cheap as poss but still suitable for small children - happy for budget but not dirty etc.
Really don't have a clue where to start and was wondering if anyone has done really cheap hol or seen any fab deals. There would be 2 x adults, 1 child (4) 1 child (2) and baby. Able to fly from prestwick or glasgow.
Really hope someone has seen a brill deal :j
Thanks in advance

is that summer school holidays in Scotland? do you need to travel then as it will be expensive0
-
Yes - do need to travel within these dates unfortunately0

It can be cheaper to fly from Liverpool/Manchester/Newcastle in early July because demand is a lower than Scotland, so consider those airports if practical with children.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Took my family off to France years ago with VERY liittle money! Got organised with a tent/cooking stuff and assorted paraphernalia (somehow all into a wally trolley), sleeping bags and a small bag for clothes/toiletries were the responsibility of each owner...and quite literally got on a bus at Victoria station. "Eurolines" I think, never ever booked...got off the other end wherever the coach went and caught a local bus or walked to the nearest campsite....there is ALWAYS room. Had some fabulous and very memorable holidays. Son is now in his thirties and still reckons they were the best he ever had. Just do it.0

Hi Laura
Had a quick look and here is the cheapest I could find. Hope it helps!
Ryan Air Flights (Prestwich to Malta)
21st - 28th July
Outward - Depart: 16:05 Arrive: 20:50
Return - Depart: 21:15 Arrive: 0:00
Total cost = £319.92
I know the flight times are not the best with small children but it is the bad flights times which are cheap!
There is an additional £24 admin fee which would make the total cost £343.92 (unless you pay with Prepaid Mastercard which is free).
You can also save by buying Ryanair vouchers and redeeming them online, these are only available in denominations of £25 but if you buy 13 it would make the max cost of the flights £325.
The cost only includes hand luggage of 5kg but that includes the two children (not the baby) so with 20kg you can easily do it. Should you chose to take extra bags they are £40 for 15kg or £60 for 20kg.
The cheapest accomodation is from alpharooms and is £413.81. It is staying at the Euroclub in Qawra on a Bed and Breakfast basis. It has 61% recommended on trip advisor but it is the more recent reviews that are good.
I have not been to the resort myself so cannot advise whether they are suitable for children but the hotel has a pool so I am sure your children will keep themselves amused in the pool
Overall the total cost is approx £740! I don't think you will find much better than that.2014 Wins - Chocs, Koala, Toiletries, Alton Towers Tickets, Budweiser Glass, Pizza, Dress, Canvas x 2, Hamper, Toucan Box, Specs, DVD, Baby Bouncer, Wine, £100 M&S Voucher, Easter Activity Pack, Nappy Cream, Men’s Shoes, Lindt Bunny, £50 Tesco Voucher, Ella's Kitchen Snacks
TOTAL VALUE = £732 :j0 -
Seems you can do better!
Ryan Air Flights (Prestwich to Faro, Portugal)
8th - 15h August
Outward - Depart: 12:30 Arrive: 15:30
Return - Depart: 09:00 Arrive: 12:05
Total cost = £251.92
So much better flights for the kids!
Same admin and baggage fees but this time buying vouchers wouldn't save you anything.
The cheapest accomodation is again from alpharooms and is £422.89. It is staying at the Club Alvor Golf in Alvor on a self Catering basis so you could save even more by making your own basic meals. The reviews are mixed so it would be worth reading and making your own choice.
Again not been to either of these resorts but both have a pool.
Overall this would cost £700!
I really hope I have helped I'm sure it can be difficult when you have 3 children.2014 Wins - Chocs, Koala, Toiletries, Alton Towers Tickets, Budweiser Glass, Pizza, Dress, Canvas x 2, Hamper, Toucan Box, Specs, DVD, Baby Bouncer, Wine, £100 M&S Voucher, Easter Activity Pack, Nappy Cream, Men’s Shoes, Lindt Bunny, £50 Tesco Voucher, Ella's Kitchen Snacks
