    Don't know if anyone's spotted it, but you're still on Service Pack 2 according to the log.
    You should be on Service Pack 3 (AFAIK) with a whole load of other updates after that as well.

    rmg is spot-on :)

    You need to check out the broadband side of this. speedtest.net and thinkbroadband's speedtester to gauge how the line is performing. Also, the line stats from the router would help :)

    Tenth Anniversary 1,000 Posts Name Dropper
    Windows now upped to SP3 and all current updates installed.
    Auto updates had been switched off which is why it was only on SP2.

    I've just run a connection speed check (SpeedTest.net) and the results are:

    Ping: 56ms
    Download 6.7Mbps
    Upload 0.38Mbps

    It might only be my imagination (placebo effect for PC's), but I think after all the tweaking it does appear to be running better.
