Hi all,

Just applied for this but I was unsuccessful - I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into why.

I am 25 years old.
Renting
Married
24k salary
35k household
no missed payments within last 6months
1 loan at 4k (due to be paid off by sept 12)
no CCJs etc in last 6 years
pay off cc every month
creditexpert gives me a score of 965

I did martins check and it says I'm a good risk but not excellent.

I have 2 ccs already, egg money 500 limit and nationwide 2k limit. Neither give cashback hence my reasoning for applying - I would get rid of them both if I had gotten accepted here.

Thanks,

Muttyhc.

ps. should I apply for anything else? I was considering the halifax reward clarity as I am a halifax banker.

Any missed payments prior to the 6 months?

How about MBNA? That's a serious question. Ask them and they'll possibly give you an indication (without giving you the exact reason).
    Married
Are you financially associated? If so, what's your partner's CRA file like?
creditexpert gives me a score of 965
I'd rank you as 983.76 myself. My [STRIKE]score[/STRIKE] made up number is as much use as Experian's because, like them, I don't provide credit facilities either! ;)
ps. should I apply for anything else?
Is it perhaps an ID issue? Are you on the electoral roll, and have you been registered at all previous addresses going back 6 years? Analyse the data on your CRA file before doing anything else.

They often have 'pre-approved' offers, meaning an external search is not made. Ask in branch or take a look at your online area 'offers for you' section.

I would apply for the Halifax Clarity if i was you as halifax know your history more than MBNA.

I can only think that AMEX make MBNA more picky for that card.

    hi guys,

ive had 1 missed payment due to an actual error with egg not taking the money for some reason, so yes on paper i've got 1 missed payment.

    I'm on the electoral roll.

I will look over my CRA file.

    Thanks for the input.
