Pandora Bracelet broken

Without going into too many details, we have a pandora bracelet for a year and a half which has snapped. It has not been worn overnight or otherwise abused. It has had only 6 charms on so has not been overloaded.

The shop we bought it from is basically saying tough and cleverly implying the item has been abused, which we find offensive but could not prove owing to the words using being ok but the tone/implications not.

How long would people expect such an item to last and what recourse do we have?

    Your rights under soga are
As it over six mouths it down to you to prove the fault is inherent to the item. Ie you need to get a engineer report which will state even its failed due to defect or due to wear and tear, which you'll have to pay for.

If it is due to an inherent fault then its repair/replace/refund at pretty much the retailer choice(bit more complex than that), if they refund they can deuct a protion of the refund for the use you've already had.

Might be worth trying to go higher up in the company though first, a letter before action ect.

Thanks. I'm already pursuing that. If I get nowwhere then the shop will get a lot of negative goodwill from me - I hate bad customer service and also demeaining the customer makes me very annoyed.

Did this get resolved can you let me know my friend has a similar problem the bracelet was brought in Australia and has already been repaired as one of the section dividers had come loose . It is now out of guarantee and has snapped in half (not at the catch)
  • We had the same problem with this shoddy company over a pair of earrings that were 6 weeks old then had the cheek to accuse the wife of sleeping with them on.

We wrote to h/o and got no where other than an email back stating that we must of misheard what they accused the wife of.
