Recording from BBC iPlayer

My daughter who lives in Oz has just asked me to record an episode of "empty houses" as the latest programme featured her house (now sold thank goodness).
I can watch it on iPlayer and have downloaded it to my desktop but both scenarios seem to limit you to 7 days viewing. Is there any way I can capture it to DVD/CD from my PC. I don't have my TV linked into my home hub or I assume I could have recorded it to my DVD hard drive, or maybe not!
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks
Tony

Yes, you can do this using get_iplayer.
Alternatively if you daughter knows how to use bittorrent it might be easier for her to download it. Not really illegal if nobody owns the copyright to it in Oz!0 -

With that in mind, I know that Aus ISPs are very stingy with their download caps on broadband. Depending on how much it would cost, it's probably best to download them to DVD and post it out there.0 -
does get_iplayer still work ?
not saying it doesn't just asking
It seemed a bit linux based ( or at least quite complex to install) so was going to suggest the PC based one I used to use
i.e.
http://po-ru.com/projects/iplayer-downloader/
But it seems the BBC have closed the loop hole to allow 'posing' as an iPod from Dec 2010
The get_iplayer web pages are dated prior to Dec 2010
edit : on reading po-ru furher, he recomends using get_iplayer after his stopped working. So seems get_iplayer is the way forward for now0 -

Not so much that they're stingy, it's more that Telstra is pretty much the equivalent of BT ten years ago and has worked hard to keep things slow, expensive, and profitable.
There's very recently been big renegotiation which has significantly lowered the wholesale costs for ISPs, so in turn raised the download caps for lines using the Telstra network.0 -
do they mean empty homes?[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -

Here is a list 2010 - 2011 that were on the iPlayer, the search name is Britain's Empty Homes .. .. begins with B not E.
However most are now not available.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
