Help with Hotpoint Mistral Fridge/Freezer

Not strictly DIY but if anybody has any experience of this type of fridge freezer I'd be grateful. The freezer is fine at -22 degrees but the fridge has stopped working and has risen to +18 degrees. I have read on one forum that the freezer thermistor(s) could be to blame, however, I can't find where to locate these inside the beast. I'm hoping I can change them myself. I think I have located the company that provides the parts, but I just don't know where to put them. Anybody up on this please? Cheers

Not sure of the exact model but it might be the type where cold air is blown from the freezer in to the fridge for cooling. Could be either the switch is broken so it thinks the door is open and will not blow, fan failed or more likely frost has blocked the ducting. Take everything out and defrost it for 24hrs then try it before you spend money on a repairs0

Thanks for these posts. We had just this problem. Emptied the freezer, unscrewed the panel at the back inside (unplugged first!!!). Loosened ice on the heat exchanger behind the panel with a hairdryer, knocked off the lumps gently, brushed it all clean, put the panel back on and plugged it in. 10 minutes and all done. Working fine now. Thank you!!!0
