Capital One Additional Cardholder Query...

As I have such a crappy credit score (460 to be exact) due to several mobile phone defaults a couple years back, I've been denied for even the LOWEST Capital One card being the Classic. Anyway my mom has this credit card already and she has offered to let me be an additional cardholder on her account. It's an account she opened up a while ago to help rebuild her own credit score and the total credit line on the card is £200 so it's more than manageable. Just wanting to know if I use the card to make most of my purchases etc and pay off in full every month, will this increase my credit rating, just my mom's or will it benefit both of us? Also, after 6 months or so of paying in full on time will Capital One be inclined to offer me my OWN account in my name? Thanks!

It'll all go in your mums favour, not yours I'm afraid. Likewise if you default, it'll be her rating that gets trashed, not yours.
I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂
