Mobile Broadband Advice Please

Hi I was wondering if someone could give me some advice please. I am in the middle of swapping broadband providers and my current one has been cut off and the new one is starting Thursday.

I decided I was more addicted to internet than I ever thought and bought a mobile broadband dongle to keep me going! I bought it from argos and its on the vodafone network.

I got it home and connected it up and tried all night with it. It kept disconneting and did all sorts of tricks such as running slow when I was connected and even not connecting up at all when there was signal. I really had enough of it I understand there never going to be as good as normal broadband but I couldnt even move pages or load emails.

I returned to argos with it today and was told I needed to get in touch with vodafone as it was excluded from the 30day money back guarantee. So I went straight to the vodafone shop and they said it wasnt their problem as I didnt buy it from them and they said they must have at least 5 argos customers coming in every week with the same thing.

So I was just wondering if anyone had any advice please. Do I just cut my losses or do I have any rights?

Thanks

Alison

I would call vodafone on the numbers provided in the packaging - the retail stores etc won't be able to do anything for you...

You have no rights to a refund due to poor coverage. Did you check before hand?

No I didnt check first because my internet had been cut off. Ive bought a tmobile dongle today so thats why im on the internet now and it is really good. Just checked the coverage on the vodafone website now and it says slow speed and its not recommended for using a laptop at my postcode. Oh well just one of those things we live and learn. Thanks for both of your replies.
