hello
Has any one heard of a telephone company called DTC? They just rang offering a deal of about £25 for home phone and internet access, sounds good for the same service as talk talk, a lot cheaper, I said I would check out their website but cant find it
thanks.

    Sales number is 0800.

    'Service' number is 0844.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

They are just another BT Reseller.

I've had a call from DTC = Docklands Telecommunications company?

Well I let the salesman chunter on with the phone on loud speaker mode; while I checked up on the not too wonderful postings about DT/DTC on the interweb.

After BT's latest round of price increases, I must get stuck in and find a cheaper alternative.

But as I am supposed to be on the telephone preference service - I don't think this cold caller willl be top of my list of options.

The caller seemed to know rather more than was healthy about my telephone usage.

Was he guessing or is "BT open reach" (what ever that is exactly) leaking like a sieve?

He was guessing. What did he guess though?
BT Openreach is the non-consumer side of BT that runs the exchanges and mantains the local loop.

He kept on telling me that BT open reach published information about their customers. I did not really believe him.

I did not agree to anything, infact id positively told him that if I did switch from BT it would not be to his company - so let us hope there is not going to be one of these fake switch situations arising - that happened to an elderly relative of mine. .
