Ebay Selling/Postal Problem

Hi,

My girlfriend recently sold some clothes on ebay.

She sold one item to a person and sent it in the post by standard second class.

The bidder says she still hasnt recieved it and this is 3 weeks since it was posted. Thie bidder is insisting on her money back.

My girlfriend has a reciept from the post office to confirm postage, if thi helps.

What do you think she should do? And where does she stand?

She needs to refund the buyer and claim from Royal mail with her proof of posting. Its a sellers responsibility to get an item to the buyer.

Unless it was sent recorded delivery you dont really have a leg to stand on, sorry, she will just have to refund and try to claim off Royal mail

Agree - refund straight away. Three weeks is a long wait and you don't want them to open a claim which will count against you.

I always dread seeing the "where's my item" email in my hotmail !!

Just have to refund and claim or take it on the chin.

The buyer has been very patient. You should have no problem with the claim, which is very straightforward.
You will need the receipt, a copy of the original ebay transaction and a copy of the paypal refund.

Be careful with using recorded as there is anecdotal evidence that for cheaper items buyers don't like to see it in the postage costs and may hit the stars.

It is also 77p a go, so make sure your GF can afford to use it as every 10 parcels is going to cost her an extra £7.70.
