quick question - advice

i bought something on ebay last Monday, so its been a week now. I hoped that i would get the item in a couple of days, i was wrong.

so it got to thursday and no item, i politely emailed the seller asking to confirm if it was posted, i got a message back saying they will have to check when they get home and will send another messege later tonight (thursday night) to confirm, im fine with that as people have other things to do with there time than just ebay. i never received such a message and when i sent another on sunday asking for confirmation i got an instant reply saying the seller is out of the office until 20.06.11.

now to open a INR case i would have to wait until the 18th, what are your thoughts on this? keep in mind this is a business seller with a lot of feedback, they also marked the item as dispached about 2 mins afer i paid.

i just dont want to be one of those buyers i hate, but then again its a peice of exercise equipment (small) that i could do with asap.

I would have thought you would be able to open an INR with Paypal before then.
I would open a dispute as soon as possible with a response like that. It does tend to focus the seller more.

I agree with Mikey, don't faff around with an ebay claim go to paypal and open one there. Just read all the screens as you progress as it does try to divert you back to do an ebay claim, and you need to stick with a paypal one.

If ebay won't let you open a case until 18th june - then i suspect the seller must have set this as the estimated arrival time in the listing.

This means that you saw the postage time in the auction, still bid anyway, and hoped they would send it sooner - instead of buying somewhere else that was dearer but faster - and your plan backfired.

What is the time stated if you 'view order details' in my ebay. That clearly states how long you should allow.

well dont you look like the monkey, firstly you dont know what i bought or what i paid compared to other prices so let me clarify just for you.

it was a buy it now not an auction so i couldnt "bid"
it said it should be delivered by yesterday, it hasnt been.
it was not the cheapest from looking im guessing it was about the 3rd most expensive, reason being the other 2 were well off the mark with there prices.
there was a few good feedback saying quick delivery etc, one of the reasons i choose this seller.
if it was set to arrive up to the 18th, what sort of postal service takes 12 days? pigion?
it was marked as dispatched 2 mins after i paid (unless she/he lives in a post office i very much doubt that.)

so i guess your feeble attempts at trying to aggrivate someone backfired on you, dingbat!

to mikey and soolin, thanks for your help guys :T I will pop onto paypal now and open a dispute, although i dont expect a reply as the seller has apparently "gone out of the office"
