what rights if any do i have?

I hope someone can help me.
I brought a rabbit hutch from an ebay shop, but 5 days after putting my rabbit ( that ive had for 6 years) in it, a fox got in and killed him. After having a good look at the hutch i noticed that it wasnt made properly or stronge enough, i sent the company a letter to the address listed on the site but never heard anything from them. I have also sent emails, which i did receive a reply, saying that they will give me a full refund, i responded by telling them although i appreciate their offer, i think i should also get some compansion. They replyed saying that they will only refund me what i payed for the hutch and that a fox can get into any hutch, ( funny after 6 years a fox only gets into one of their hutches). I then received a email from paypal saying my money from this company has been refunded! As of yet i have had no email or and contact from them telling me that they have done this! What rights if any do i have? what can i do now?
hope someone can help
thank you

What else did you want, if you have been refunded via paypal? I would have thought that had you inspected the hutch on point of delivery, then any shoddy workmanship or construction issues regarding the hutch would have been obvious, in which case you could have rejected delivery as faulty.Did you not notice the flimsy nature of the hutch when you put it together, or put the rabbit in it? Foxes can be very wily and determined, so I hardly think you can hold the company responsible for a hungry fox!

I agree I'm afraid. Unless the hutch was sold as fox-proof then I would have thought that it was fit for purpose so long as the bunny couldn't escape. Lots of people keep their hutch in an outbuilding, so I wouldn't have thought that being fox-proof was a fundamental requirement for a hutch, unless it was stated to you that it was such.

In the circumstance I'd say that you've done well just to get a refund.

You have a refund, and from what you have posted a hutch as well, so I would use the money and get it fox proof, then purchase a new bunny.

Fox are wiley, got into my fathers hen house 3 times and killed the lot, he has given up now.
