You should know by now that if I'm quiet for a few days I've probably started a new diary ;)
  • All sounding still good on the other side of the fence. That is an interesting point about the savings v op. Might be worth shoving more into your isa until next April instead!

I still haven't got to my first SB voucher yet as I just havent had time to do the extra's but its going up steady!

Can I just ask - if your mortgage rate is so low, would you not be better saving in a high interest rate account and then paying off your mortgage at the end, or one payment every couple of years? Most people wouldn't have the discipline for this but I expect you would !!!
It's something I was thinking about, but I quite like the satisfaction of seeing the balance reduce. I'm currently making my small OPs into a savings account anyway and then reducing the balance of the mortgage when I feel I have enough money in there - there's only £16.80 in there at the moment, so it will take a while :rotfl:I'd be interested in hearing what everyone else thought about this anyway.

I agree if you've got the disipline then save and earn more money which ulimately means more mortgage paid off. Well worth piling it all into a reasonable rate ISA - interest and no tax, its a win win situation. But somehow make sure it can't accidentally be used it to buy handbags!! My Mulberry arrived this afternoon its soooo pretty plus I love the little beribboned bag it comes in :T

I never got any olympic tickets and have lost interest now so think I will just give the whole thing a miss and just watch it on TV. Are you and your friend going to spend your olympic money next year on something else?

I was really lucky and got mens football final but bit gutted no tennis or athletics. Haven't decided if I'm going for second chance tickets yet or not. Would really love to go to one event at the Olympic Park.

    Evening folks :D

First thing to report is a slightly disappointing half pound lost at WW tonight. At least I haven't put anything on though! I'm hoping that next week I'll do a little bit better. At least I know that I'm eating better and exercising more, so the weightloss will come.

I'm now up to 750SB which means only 99 more for another Amazon voucher. I'm in the middle of a very dull survey on printers for one of my survey websites, then I'm off to check OnePoll.

I think that you guys might be right about paying into my ISA instead of another account. I'll start that from tomorrow I think. Shelley - I won't spend it on handbags, as I have an account set aside for my eventual Mulberry purchase - I've been saving since Christmas :D

Better go and finish the dull survey *yawn*

Thanks Footie! I need to measure myself later to see how I'm doing with the inches, so you're right that could show me a difference.

    Money

    It's payday
    blissysmile.gif!

That means the accounts are back to normal and I have:

    PAD/Spends - £140
    Entertainment - £73.45
    Groceries - £210
    Christmas/Birthday - £92.74
    Car fund - £240

I put £55 into my ISA this morning which isn't for OPs. I want to keep a buffer in there of at least £2,000 for home repairs/emergencies. I'm only £150 away from that target, so that's the next thing to aim for, then anything over that will be my OP fund.

Ebay sales are up to £15 which is quite exciting. I still have multiple viewers on some items. Some of the things I'm listing have been listed twice already, so if they don't sell it's off to the charity shop with them - there's too much clutter in my life!

I'm off out for dinner tonight to Toby Carvery, so I'm off now to check the nutritional information on their website to see how much WW damage I'll be doing today :rotfl:

Are you pleased it is payday?? :D

I LOVE Toby Carvery. We were there on Sunday for Father's Day. It was delish! Actually, truth be told, I love most food.

£150 away from the target on payday is not bad, you will do that in no time. :)

    Gap x
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
