advice on selling a ticket/s ebay

Always bought things on ebay. But want to sell possible 2 concerts tickets which must be used by 25th June

Genuine reason to sell cant now get transport there is no public transport, friend who I bought ticket for has now suddenly decided she cant go in there car husband needs it. She hasnt even paid me full price yet £30 for £34.50 ticket for ticket, let alone her share of the fee. Obviously I want sell her ticket unless she gives permission

So I decided I either put it on scarlet mist or have a punt on Ebay, but I have heard fees can rake up and want to watch out for scammers

So whats best way to sell and put in add

Something like

UK ebay customers only. Paypal only etc


What about time limits concert is on 25th of this month.

Being brutally honest here I would be cautious about selling tickets on ebay which can be problematic if you are not an expereinced ebay seller. For instance putting terms in your auction blurb is no good unless you have all your settings tight to stop non UK bidders and to ensure that you get immediate payment.

If you do go ahead on ebay then it might be best to go for a 7 day BIN with immediate payment required, have your selelr requirements set very tightly, maybe even exclude bidders with no card registered . Then of course make sure you follow all the correct procedure for postage to cover yourself against a paypal chargeback - so special delivery etc,

EDIT: forgot to add that tickets require strict adherence to the paypal rules regarding selling them, so check the additional info required before you lsit.

The good news is that the buyer cannot claim their money back from paypal or ebay.

This would not stop a chargeback from their credit card company later down the line though, but that applies to all listings.

The true face value of the ticket must be stated.

Are you completely sure that tickets are exempt from buyer protection as they are a tangible item and I can see no mention that they are exempt. We have also had threads on here with sellers having chargebacks for tickets via paypal.

If the concert's local to you, maybe you could try your local paper or gumtree, cash on collection.

Charebacks are different, as thats done by the credit card company, but you may be right - its airline tickets and gift vouchers/cards that are exempt.

Thank you for th elink, that is a useful one to bookmark.

However for brevity we usually refer to an INR as a chargeback, although I accept it is not technically correct to describe it that way. So the buyer can do an INR for item not received hence th eneed for th ecorrect postage.

Stick them on facebook - if they are for a popular boy band, there will be someone who wants them.....and at least it will be someone you know and hopefully trust.
