Home Insurance for Completion Day

I am completing my house buy this Friday and have Home insurance in place, i was just wondering will the bank need to see the insurance documents before they transfer the funds? The mortgage is with HSBC, it does state you need insurance in place but doesn't state that i need to send it to them.

Help Much appreciated.

    Remortgage or purchase?

In the case of the former, they'll probably accept you've got cover and not ask for evidence.

If you're buying, your solicitor may request confirmation of cover from the insurer. You can normally ask them to fax it directly.

Ok. Solicitor is acting for you and for lender, so he may require confirmation of cover, as mentioned. Ask solicitor if anything needed and ask insurer to fax to solicitor if he does.

We had to send details of a quote to the solicitor early on in the process, but they didn't check we'd actually got insurance. We would have faxed the cover documents over if they had asked. cel x
